British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Nigeria Following Tragic Road Accident
Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, local government spokespeople announced on late Wednesday. The athlete was involved in a car accident outside Lagos on December 29th, a devastating event that claimed the lives of two of his valued colleagues.
Healing from Light Wounds
The sports star had remained in the hospital while healing from his light wounds, his promoter confirmed on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on social media that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to leave and heal privately.
“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two friends who passed away as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the commissioner stated.
A Tribute to the Fallen
The two men who died were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. It was also noted that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and overcome with emotion over the tragic loss of his two close friends.”
The news of his discharge arrives after the global fight fans had expressed its support for the star in the wake of the devastating accident.
