The tenth week again delivered, with a major surprise for the Bills demonstrating the 'any given Sunday' saying that draws so many fans into the National Football League
This outcome may have opened opportunities for the New England Patriots to move back into a top spot they used to occupy, with a schedule that provides them an advantage over their 8-2 rivals
Over in the NFC the Seattle Seahawks and Rams had perfect results to arrange a major confrontation in week 11, while our player of the week is chasing records as well as the MVP award
Analysis - Just a Bad Day for Buffalo?
Was it just an emotional letdown from defeating Kansas City last week or a deeper issue? This remains the question for the Bills to answer
The Buffalo squad had won seven in a row against Miami but were outperformed from the beginning as the Miami team ran out 30-13 winners in an eye-opening result - and display
MVP quarterback Josh Allen only got the team's initial first down in the third period and first points in the final quarter - yes Miami had 10 days to prepare but it was nonetheless a significant failure produced by one of the NFL's best offenses
Tua Tagovailoa threw two scores but rusher Achane was the devastating difference, with 225 combined yards and two touchdowns
Bottling up the league's best running game was also key, with Cook and teammates registering just 86 yards, their fewest of the season and slightly more than half their 161.5-yard average
Then there were the three crucial turnovers, and the pair from Josh Allen specifically. An pass caught by defense in the end zone resulting in a nine-minute drive yielded no points, and his final quarter fumble that the Dolphins converted to seven points just two plays
It was typical 'previous Bills teams' as they shot themselves in the foot, getting into a hole on defense and Allen attempting to overcompensate to dig his team from the situation - not the composed, controlled, balanced Bills we've witnessed this season
The Dolphins have served up a bit of everything this season so the verdict is uncertain on whether this is the beginning of a trend, but for Buffalo they'll require an instant response in a difficult matchup against the Buccaneers in week 11 as the New England are sneaking into a nice lead at the summit of the American Football Conference East
Spotlight - New England See Path to Unexpected First Place
Speaking of the Patriots, they're among three different eight and two squads in the NFL, all AFC sides, but could they be the top team?
You can pick holes in the Patriots, the Broncos and Indianapolis actually for feasting on the lesser sides, with just five of their combined twenty-four victories achieved against teams with a positive record - and one example was the Colts defeating the Broncos
The Broncos defeated the champion Eagles in Philadelphia and are kings of the final quarter while Indy can ride Taylor, but the Patriots adding Sunday's win in Tampa Bay to their prime time win in Orchard Park appears to be a declaration
Their two defeats came in recently appointed coach Vrabel's first three games, with seven straight wins, similar to Denver, since then - but taking down Baker Mayfield after the Buccaneers had a week off to prepare was significant
Maye's Most Valuable Player credentials won't go away, and he certainly deserves point for courage after absorbing some savage hits in Tampa but hanging in there to steer his side to victory
The defensive unit is reliable and rookie running back Henderson exploded on game day with 147 rushing yards and two exhilerating touchdowns of fifty-five and sixty-nine yards - establishing himself as just the fifth different ball carrier to break 22mph this season on his initial touchdown
While you can debate who 'the top team' is statistically, the Pats should be favourites to end with the best record thanks to their remaining opponents - which features just one game against a successful opponent, although a significant contest against Buffalo
Traveling to the Ravens is challenging too, but Denver have it even tougher in the AFC West division with the Kansas City to face two times, the Chargers (who might also challenge for top seed but encounter the same problem) and additionally the Packers on the fixture list
The Colts also face the Chiefs, and have the Seahawks, San Francisco and two matchups with the five and four Jaguars to face. There's a long way to travel but the door is available for a shock top seed in the American Football Conference
Coming Up - Los Angeles and Seattle Prepare for Week 11 Showdown
Both squads with solid claims to be superior to all of the three different eight and two teams are National Football Conference West rivals the Seahawks and Rams, who both put up 40 burgers to reach seven and two before next week's major game between the pair in Los Angeles
Both have won four in a row, have quarterbacks in Matthew Stafford and Darnold playing at an elite level (although Darnold had ball security problems on Sunday) with top receivers, and defensive units giving up under 20 points a contest
Each could realistically be without a loss as well - particularly the Rams as their two defeats occurred in extra time against the San Francisco and then that agonising loss in Philadelphia when they had a potentially winning field goal with the final play blocked and run back by the Philadelphia for a score
Seattle also lost to the 49ers, with a last-minute score in the opening week, before falling to the final play of the game against the Buccaneers - so they're genuinely two of the best sides in the league
The upcoming game on Sunday could be the best of the season so far
Top Performer - Taylor
Jonathan Taylor might be on for a historic year after his remarkable performance in Germany - rushing for 244 rushing yards, registering three scores and contributing another 42 {receiving yards
