Chiefs State They Are Aware of Domestic Violence Allegations Connected to Wide Receiver Rashee Rice
The NFL franchise released a comment Wednesday night confirming they have knowledge of domestic violence allegations made public in online accounts by a ex-partner of player the athlete and were in contact with the league office.
The team did not mention the player specifically in their statement and said they would have “no further comment at this time”.
Allegations Posted on Social Media
The woman, who also did not mention the athlete directly, posted a series of photos on social media that seemed to depict signs of physical abuse. Jones stated the person involved was the father of her children, and reports indicate she has kids with the football player, whom the Chiefs drafted in the 2023 draft.

No official complaints were available in the Kansas City suburb where the alleged abuse is said to have occurred.
Rice's Prior Off-Field Troubles
Rice missed the initial part of this season due to an league-mandated ban for his role in instigating a multi-vehicle accident on a Texas roadway that resulted in multiple people hurt. Rice was given a month of incarceration and probationary supervision after pleading guilty to serious offenses.
On the field, he concluded the year with 53 receptions for 571 yards and five TDs as the Chiefs finished 6-11 and missed the playoffs for the first occasion in a ten-year span.
