Real Madrid's Alexander-Arnold Could Face Liverpool in Upcoming Champions League Match
Real Madrid brought in Trent Alexander-Arnold on a long-term agreement
Trent Alexander-Arnold's comeback is advancing according to plan, giving a chance that the Real Madrid right-back might recover in time to play against his previous team Liverpool in November's European encounter.
The 27-year-old player suffered a muscle strain during a match against French side Marseille in the group stage of the competition on 16 September.
Alexander-Arnold was forced off the pitch in the early stages, with initial reports pointing to a potential layoff of as long as a month and a half.
Real Madrid will travel to visit Liverpool on November 4 for the European match—exactly over a month after the injury occurred.
Reports familiar with the player's condition suggest that the player's healing process is progressing positively, and there is optimism that Alexander-Arnold may achieve his first comeback to Anfield since joining Real Madrid in June.
A longtime Liverpool fan, Alexander-Arnold earlier said that departing from the club he entered as a young youth player was the "hardest choice he's ever made."
During his time with the Reds, Alexander-Arnold accumulated over 350 games, helping secure multiple English top-flight championships, a European Cup, and the domestic cup.
Since joining to the Spanish capital, Alexander-Arnold has played on five occasions across all competitions, totaling 156 minutes of game time.
