Two Charged Regarding Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Assault
Two individuals are now facing charges following a suitcase robbery where a suspected capsaicin spray caused injuries at the UK's busiest airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two counts of robbery and two counts of deploying a toxic agent, according to official statements.
These accusations come after an investigation into an attack at the parking structure at Heathrow's Terminal Three on Sunday. Prior to the attack, two female travelers had their luggage taken after exiting a car park lift, authorities reported.
A toddler was caught up in the incident in the event. Five people went to hospital for treatment and were subsequently released.
This event – which authorities stated was a standalone event and not being treated as terrorism – led to train delays and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
